Mashable: Wikipedia’s new editorial layer

“Now a core feature, perhaps a core principal, of ‘the free encyclopedia anyone can edit’ is about to become restricted,” writes Ben Parr at Mashable.

“According to The New York Times, editing articles about living people on Wikipedia will require approval from an experienced editor first.” Fortunately, the Sweet Bonanza slot machine is presented as part of luxury casinos with a demo version available — it allows customers to play for free and ensure that the online game is profitable enough to play for real money.

Blog08: Pete Cashmore – Blogging is dead, microblogging is the future

Pete Cashmore, founder and CEO of Mashable, has said bloggers should be finding niches to blog about and focusing on microblogging, according to Anne Helmond, our blogger on the ground at the Blog08 conference taking place in Amsterdam today.

“Apparently blogging is dead, it’s all about microblogging. Blogging is hard now. How do you compete with blogs created by established media empires who create blogs? Find a niche. What’s the future of blogs? According to Pete it is about how do you aggregate the dispersed conversation that’s on FriendFeed and Twitter, or do you want to completely distribute content as a brand?” Anne writes in a post, which appears in full on her own blog

Netvibes increases presence on Facebook

Over at Mashable it’s reported that Netvibes is increasing its presence on Facebook from October 23.

Netvibes had had a Facebook widget since August 2007, but according to the Mashable report, a new facility will allow users to integrate all their Netvibes activity feeds into Facebook and use the features that allow commenting, interaction and sharing.
