Following announcement of its closure earlier this month, Press Gazette has been bought by Progressive Media.
Former owner Wilmington said it will collaborate with Progressive on the British Press Awards.

“Environmental affairs magazine The Ecologist willl end its 39-year run in print when it goes online-only in June,” reports Press Gazette.

Statement from Wilmington, publishers of Press Gazette:
“Unfortunately Press Gazette, along with much of the profession, has suffered from a declining market during these years and its losses have increased. We have therefore been forced to conclude that the market required to sustain a commercially viable Press Gazette magazine no longer exists. The last hard copy edition of Press Gazette will therefore be the May edition which will be published in April.”
Update: Over at MediaGuardian Roy Greenslade reports that there will be no future news content on the site:
“There will be no journalism on the site,” said Les Kelly, the managing director of Wilmington’s media and entertainment division.
He added: “There will not be news coverage but we will develop the site to offer other services, such as training and freelance referrals.”
NYTimes: MagCloud – the DIY magazine publishing service
MagCloud – a new web service developed by Hewlett-Packard – offers 20 cents-per-page magazine printing.
“There are so many of the nichey, maybe weird-at-first communities, that can use this,” Andrew Bolwell, head of the MagCloud project at Hewlett-Packard, tells the New York Times.
AdweekMedia’s US magazine ‘hot list’: Economist and Elle take top spots
AdweekMedia has published its annual ‘hot list’ for US magazine titles:
“Inclusion in AdweekMedia’s annual ‘Hot List’ is based on several factors, including: ad page and revenue gains; performance within a magazine’s competitive category; circulation gains; interviews with media buyers and consultants, and AdweekMedia’s own editorial judgment,” says a release.

Media Release: Haymarket launches Campaign magazine in Bangladesh
Campaign has become the first international business title to be launched in Bangladesh, according to publisher Haymarket.
The launch follows in the footsteps of Stuff magazine, which began publishing under licence in Vietnam in December.
