Editor&Publisher: Carole Feldman to lead convergence at AP’s Washington bureau

The assistant chief of bureau for the AP in Washington will be responsible for ‘the convergence of text, broadcast and online formats’ in the bureau.

Prior to her current post, which she has held for five years, Feldman was the AP’s Washington news editor.

AP reports: Rupert Murdoch has said that doomsayers ‘who are predicting the internet will kill off newspapers are ‘misguided cynics’ who fail to grasp that the online world is potentially a huge new market of information-hungry consumers.’

Editor&Publisher: US Tribune Group to drop AP subscription for nine newspapers

The Tribune Company has given notice to the Associated Press that the group’s nine daily US newspapers intend to drop the AP news service – it is the first major newspaper chain to do so since the AP announced plans for new rates.
