NYTimes.com: CBS News using Ustream for newscasts and special reports

“Seeking a younger audience more accustomed to watching the news on the internet than on television, CBS News said Monday that it had joined with a live video web site [Ustream] to simulcast its newscasts and special reports,” reports the New York Times.

Ustream, will host ‘CBS Evening News With Katie Couric,’ breaking news coverage and ‘unfiltered news conferences and speeches’, it is reported. Full story at this link…

Gawker: NYTimes falls foul of Google with IHT.com fold

Having folded the website of the international Herald Tribune into that of the New York Times, IHT story links now redirect to a generic landing page – denying the Times extra Google juice and frustrating users.

NYTimes innovation plans: Widgets, iPhone, APIs

  • Widgets: Customisable box of Times stories, video, slideshows and the rest on your blog or social network page? Yes please.
  • Aggregation: It bought Blogrunner an eternity ago and uses it now just to pull content from partner sites into NYTimes – think PaidContent, CNET stuff on the Tech pages. But ‘bigger plans’ are afoot – Frons won’t say more though.
  • Apps: Yes, NYTimes.com is working on apps for Apple’s forthcoming iPhone store.
