#Tip of the day from Journalism.co.uk – toolkit to build your own news website

The Journalism Foundation yesterday published a free toolkit explaining “how to build your own local website, which contains practical advice from academics and journalists for people inspired to make a difference to their local community”.
The guide has been written by well known journalists including:
- Jonathan Richards, interactive editor of the Guardian who has written a chapter called “how to find and write a story”.
- Online journalism academic Paul Bradshaw suggests “seven books that journalists working online should read”.
- Danny Finkelstein, executive editor of the Times, has contributed “what a free press means to me”.
The Journalism Foundation was set up in December to promote independent journalism under the leadership of former editor of the Independent Simon Kelner and supported by the Lebedev family, owner of the Independent and Evening Standard.
