For Uganda we tried &quot;diaries&quot; which allowed us to return to the same set of people and see how they were doing as northern Uganda seemed on the way to peace. Following people over time and not just mugging them for a quote is perhaps the most satisfying part. We felt a bit invested in Esther&#039;s CD4 count (one of our &quot;diarists&quot; (who of course are mediated now through Ugandan journalists))
