I also didn't like the click-thru to "read more" - it's fine on a landing page but not on entry page - why not just publish the full entry? And what's with the Liveournal address? I think it makes it look rather amateur. Content-wise, Alton should stick to what he knows best and leave the telly reviews to the critics.
