MediaGuardian: Six new weekend production journalists at the Telegraph despite decision to ditch freelancers

Six new staff have been appointed as production journalists at the Telegraph Media Group, to work only at weekends, after the decision to scrap all casually employed freelance journalists.

Trouble is that freelance staff do bring a wider range of skills and experiences to the task than single focus newly out of Uni. in-house computer geeky hacks. It shows in some of the feature coverage especially the Cruise/Travel Industry reports, they are so up P&O’s backside – to the exclusion of all others – it must hurt..freebie cruises are taken in the most expensive suites way above the normal cruise criteria…Ok rant over
